Dear, I'm currently using pound 2.5 on debian 6 in a production environment with 3 back-end servers running +- 20-30Mbit of constant traffic in total. However I often get the following 3 errors, which I can't seem to understand properly. In order to resolve them I even checked the source code to try to understand them, but my skills are very limited in C. I'm also unable to reproduce it, I just got some notifications about some users gettings a 500 error (default message: An internal server error occurred. Please try again later.):
the most common error I get (around 200 times/hour) is: Dec 28 15:00:08 balancer1 pound: (7fb46023e700) e500 can't read header Dec 28 15:00:09 balancer1 pound: (7fb4b4385700) e500 can't read header Dec 28 15:01:21 balancer1 pound: (7fb455cb2700) e500 can't read header Dec 28 15:01:31 balancer1 pound: (7fb4851d8700) e500 can't read header I think this might be due to MAXBUF not being big enough? By default this is on 4096. Dec 28 14:12:07 balancer1 pound: (7fb48156a700) e500 response error read from 10.6.4.11:80/GET /public/js/ajCategories.js HTTP/1.1: Success (0.000 secs) Dec 28 14:25:49 balancer1 pound: (7fb47f1de700) e500 response error read from 10.6.4.11:80/GET /pictures/snow2.gif HTTP/1.1: Success (0.000 secs) Is this just an informal error? why the Success at the end, did it resend the request to a backend? Dec 28 14:08:12 balancer1 pound: (7fb48672c700) e500 error copy client cont to 10.6.4.11:80/POST /register.php?language=E&submitted=yes HTTP/1.0: Success (149.965 sec) Dec 28 14:10:49 balancer1 pound: (7fb495083700) e500 error copy client cont to 10.6.4.10:80/POST /register.php?language=E&submitted=yes HTTP/1.0: Success (149.965 sec) Dec 28 14:19:03 balancer1 pound: (7fb464956700) e500 error copy client cont to 10.6.4.12:80/POST /register.php?language=D&submitted=yes HTTP/1.0: Success (150.066 sec) Dec 28 14:19:05 balancer1 pound: (7fb464956700) error copy response body: Broken pipe This one is also rather weird, as it always takes about 150 sec although timeout connecto and client are on 300. Is this request successful? I hope someone can clarify this for me as the documentation or google didn't help a lot in understanding these errors.
