Presumably a blocked request results in status 503? I configured Pound with status 503 and status 500 pages, for when the web server is restarting. I wonder if I actually want the 503 status page. The less information provided to bad guys, the better.
No idea about pound's regex capability. Looking at the source code would probably be helpful, but I don't have time to do that right now.
Right now I'm going to pore through the web logs looking for more bots to block.
