I made a very simple application that can detect when USB devices are
connected and disconnected.  It can also identify the type of USB device.

I don't have time to continue working on it.  I can make the source 
code available if anyone wants to develop it into a
plugin or if Bruce wants to incorporate it into HookSystemEvents.
