I haven't researched this or anything, but do you have any active timers set to auto-save their values? If so then PowerPro can rightfully update the PCF every so often. If however, like me you don't use any timers then this writing doesn't seem necessary. I've just checked the timestamp of my .PCF file though and it hasn't been written to for about two hours.
