I wrote that because I use the litestep shell
so Win alone does nothing unless I specifically set it
as a hotkey.
Maybe those using the standard explorer.exe shell need to
disable the usual Win-alone behaviour, if you want to use
Win as a modifier.

Not setting Win-alone to anything
seems a small price to pay for gaining a useful modifier.
Hotkeys using the other, more usual modifiers, such as Ctrl+F10
often clash with applications' hotkeys.
Win+key doesn't have that problem.
