Wow, you investigated that one so thoroughly Sean! S> More and more recent applications are doing this: S> besides TheBat you mentioned, foobar2000, MyIE/Maxthon S> ... *TrayIcon feature is going to be less and less reliable, S> I'm afraid.
My preference is to surrender early if a particular tray icon seems to be incompatible with PowerPro's Tray Icon features. It seems quicker and easier, and more likely to succeed, to make a workaround which will mimic what a click on the tray icon does, using any suitable PP command except *TrayIcon. ------------------------------------------------ a digression: BTW I've noticed those same apps with unconventional tray icons often misbehave on the TaskBar too (or here: on my PP active bar). TheBat for example shows two icons while I type this message; one for the main Bat window, one for the message editing window. If I switch away to another app, then click the Active Button for the message window, the main Bat windows comes to the front. If I click that same Active button again, this message window finally comes up. A similar thing happens with MS Word. If I have two document windows open, clicking the Active button which shows Doc1 for its tooltip may bring the Doc2 window to the front. I don't think that is Powerpro's fault because the same happens on the TaskBar in the standard shell. Like TheBat and MyIE2, MS Word is not fully compliant with MS Windows standards, no matter whether you choose its MDI or SDI mode. ------------------------------------------------ IMHO it would be unreasonable to expect PowerPro to always interact perfectly with such eccentric programs. ------------------------ Yahoo!
