Here's the script you submitted with some slight modifications.
Could it be true that no function already exists to convert the
content of a numeric variable to its ASCII equivalent, and so we must
resort to the Eval("" ++ Fill() ++ "") syntax below?

Local sMenu
For(Local I = 32; I < 256; I = I + 1)
If(I == 32) Do
sMenu = sMenu ++ "Sub=32 {space} - 64 @\n"
sMenu = sMenu ++ I ++ " (space)\n"
ElseIf(I == 61)
sMenu = sMenu ++ I ++ " (equals sign)\n"
ElseIf(I == 92)
sMenu = sMenu ++ I ++ " \\\n"
ElseIf(I == 160)
sMenu = sMenu ++ I ++ " (non-breaking space)\n"
Else
If(I == 65) Do
sMenu = sMenu ++ "EndSub\nSub=65 A - 96 `\n"
ElseIf(I == 97)
sMenu = sMenu ++ "EndSub\nSub=97 a - 135 !\n"
ElseIf(I == 136)
sMenu = sMenu ++ "EndSub\nSub=136  - 175 \n"
ElseIf(I == 176)
sMenu = sMenu ++ "EndSub\nSub=176  - 215 \n"
ElseIf(I == 216)
sMenu = sMenu ++ "EndSub\nSub=216  - 255 \n"
EndIf
; --- all one line below
sMenu = sMenu ++ I ++ " " ++ Eval("\"\\D" ++ Fill("000", I) ++ "\"") ++ "\n"
; --- all one line above
If(I == 255)
sMenu = sMenu ++ "EndSub"
EndIf
EndFor
I = MiscPlugin.Show_Menu("*Clip Paste Char", sMenu)
If(I != "NO_ITEM_SELECTED") Do
Clip.Set(Eval("\"\\D" ++ Fill("000", I + 0) ++ "\""))
Clip.Paste
EndIf
Quit
