It doesn't affect the global environment variables at all,
which is possible only through modifying "registry".
They are just local environment variables, valid only
for that opened session.
(Try "set" after closeing and restarting PP)

The different environment variables in Command Prompts
depend on which app launchs the command prompt.

To see this:
after exec.setenv("pp","anything_you_want"),
1) execute "cmd" from PP's runbox -> "set"
2) execute "cmd" from Window's runbox -> "set"
