The problem is when I click the button, the traditional > Start Menu pops up at the bottom left of the desktop followed by > another start menu under my mouse at the top of the screen. Is there a > way to prevent the first start menu from flashing before I get the one > at the top of the screen where I want it? No. The menu startmenu command works by showing the start menu, then moving it to the mouse location. As an alternative, consider building your own start menu.
