Some fiddling around with Russel's fantastic MiscPlugin has rewarded
me with some progress in this department.
The following expression will evaluate to a multi-line string with
the ToolTip of each system tray icon contained on each line (or at
least it will on a Windows XP system):
Local TrayIcons = MiscPlugin.Get_WindowText(?"Taskbar", 5, ?"Sep=10")
Also just for interest, you can do the same for each visible taskbar
entry by changing the 5 in the above expression to 9.
