Icons - I find them to generally be less than useful since usually
there is no clear connection between the image of the icon and the
function for many of the icons.
For example, The Bat! Edit Mail Message taskbar has some buttons which
are clear:
Put message in the outbox
(too small needs to be bigger but right imagery to convey the message)
Save the message
Cut to Clipboard
Attach a file

and others which are not clear
Send the message
Save message as draft
copy
paste (although the best paste I saw was a brush and cap from
a bottle of glue paste - but that dates me.)
and all the rest

Another icon which does not work is the history icon for both IE and
Firefox, neither says to me history.

Favorites for IE is not clear but Bookmarks for Firefox is blatantly
obvious.

Personally, icons should be designed to be blatantly obvious as to
what function they perform.

With the proposed icons I find the off-hook, on-hook and dialing
disabled icons of set B very clear to what they represent.

The icon with just the letter D on it does not imply to me debug but
the D (bug) icon in David T's modified A is blatantly obvious as to
it's function.

Similarly, by spelling out the word script it is clear that the icon
represents a script file.

As far as colors I generally prefer high contrast colors as any text
is generally more easily readable.

My question is Why can't we take the ideas for the best representative
icons and use those??? Best representative is defined as more clearly
implying the funtion performed to someone not familiar with PowerPro.
