Hmmm... It's really odd. So, as you pointed out in the
previous post, the hotkeys seem not to be re-enabled after
the *keys.

Let's make it a bit clearer: when no keys seemed to be sent,
wasn't there any error message from PP, something like
'can not find the window to send keys ...'?
If there wasn't any error message from PP, then the keys
were sort of sent, well at least PP might think so, I suppose.
Then, the problem is what's the window to receive the keys.
With the fact that '*Keys {to none}' was not working either,
I suspect this window could be another keyboard monitor app.
My guess is following (:it's my pure speculation, so it can
be compeletely wrong). Maybe PP re-enables the hotkeys after
confirming that the keyboard buffer is cleared. But, in
your case, the would-be suspect proggy is somehow holding
the keys it received from PP in the buffer, at least a while,
so PP doesn't re-enable the hotkeys.
BTW, what could be the one, monitoring the keyboard,
which does exist in XP, but does not in ME?
ctfmon.exe? Well, I don't know ... You may track down it
in the task manager...
