If I set up PowerPro (with the scheduler) to make my machine
hibernate after, say, 4 hours of idleness, but I manually hibernate
the machine, and leave it off for 5 hours, when I turn it back on,
PowerPro immediately causes my machine to hibernate! I'm guessing
PowerPro doesn't have any knowledge that the machine has just come
out of hibernation, so it presumes 5 hours of idleness.
Also, I have my BIOS set to turn my machine on at 6am every morning,
and I want PowerPro to hibernate it after 4 hours of idleness. But
if I don't touch the machine at all between 6am (auto turn on) and
10am, it fails to hibernate at 10am, and, instead, stays on until I
use the mouse or keyboard, and THEN hibernates after 4 hours.
Does anyone know of a better way of getting what I want?
Specifically, I want my machine to hibernate after 4 hours of
key/mouse idleness, and I want it to be on from 6am to 10am every day
(or longer, if I actually happen to be using the machine).
Will standard WinXP power settings do a better job at this than
PowerPro? Perish the thought!
