I don't really understand what is happening. Can you see if this stil happens with default configuration? Ctrl-right click bar, view menu from "change configuration", select default. You should get a small bar. Do the problems described above still happen when this bar is showing? If not, then it is something in your configuration. You will need to go through settings and hot keys one by one, de-activating each separately, then testing to see if this solves the problem.
