PowerPro uses Windows system routines to extract icons (ExtractIconEx and ShGetFileInfo) so any delays you are seeing are due to these Windows routines. In the latest beta 4.2.01, I added a check to see if the file was accessible before calling these routines. But this check itself uses a Windows routine which could have the same problem.
