no, ?"I know what you mean", that was just sloppy cutting&pasting of me. There really is a problem, I think it's with the direction of the slash right before the wildcard. pickstring(file.listfiles(?"C:/MyDocs\My Pictures\2003-06 (Jun)-19 The Best Party @ SLS\*.jpg",1),"") returns C:/MyDocs\My Pictures\2003-06 (Jun)-19 The Best Party @ SLS\IM002708.JPG C:/MyDocs\My Pictures\2003-06 (Jun)-19 The Best Party @ SLS\IM002710.JPG while pickstring(file.listfiles(?"C:/MyDocs\My Pictures\2003-06 (Jun)-19 The Best Party @ SLS/*.jpg",1),"") returns C:\MyDocs\My Pictures\IM002708.JPG C:\MyDocs\My Pictures\IM002710.JPG Incidentally, I just noticed another problem.
