I've been doing UI design for 16 years now, so I think I'm entitled to express
my opinion.

PowerPro isn't an application, it's a tool. Applications are for end users,
utilities are for power users, and tools are for people who do some coding
and/or scripting. PP can be a utility for people like me, who are willing to
spend some time futzing around with arcane settings on a trial-and-error
basis, and implement some of the tidbits that show up here on the list. But
TweakUI, it ain't (and MS didn't want end users messing with even those
limited tweaks).

For a tool, though, PP is pretty transparent (it ain't Eclipse, either). The
options and their interactions can be daunting, I agree. Nevertheless, PP is
my only must-have utility because it's a very powerful tool that non-coders
can use to accomplish the same things that you'd need a million little
one-function utilities to do.

I don't understand the inner workings of PP, and I've never written a script.
But I won't use a computer without it.
