Maybe some dependency in another script on hookwindowsevents running
is causing this failure. Can you think what it might be?

In meantime, as work around, add statements
if (g_disabled)
quit

to start of script and add a startup scheduled event
global g_disabled=1

The add a button or hot key
g_disabled = 1-g_disabled
to toggle.
