This is why Total Commander is pure gold. It is rock-solid. Yes, people who
used Norton Commander in the bad old MS-DOS days probably get warm and fuzzy
feelings (I did, but I don't). I use it because if I'm stupid enough to set up
three background Move sessions with dozens of 20-30 gigabyte lossless music
files, I know that TC will get WAAAY slow, but it won't crash or screw up any
other running processes.

I've been using TC for more than 10 years. There are other file managers with
better UIs and some slick features, but I wouldn't trust them with my data the
way I can with TC. Christian releases updates on a sane schedule, and
thoroughly documents new features and squashed bugs. How he manages to do this
and still be a full-time graduate student is beyond me, but his track record
is amazing.

Like with Bruce, if Christian got hit by a bus tomorrow, that would be the end
of TC. My favorite programs are the ones with a live, caring, participating
human owner/developer running the show. TC & PowerPro.
