Let me describe it in more detail: (with "Format Context =explorer" &
the option "Hide ..." checked) Actually the bar blinked out, not just
remain hidden, when I clicked the (Explorer's) desktop. So, what
really happens is that the "Format Context =explorer" tries to show
the bar, and then the option tries to make the bar hidden. I already
noticed this funny behavior from the first test. So I regret: if I was
not in a hurry to post I would have realized what was really going on ...

Surely!

Actually it doesn't matter to me as I don't and won't use =explorer in
Format Context. However, I am curious what difficulty PP will meet if
PP excludes the Desktop from the active windows list, like PP's bar
and Explorer's taskbar.

As a matter of fact, I've never had any problem for using PP in my
system where there is indeed no desktop as there is no (explorer)
shell! OK, there might be a problem to use PP's hotkeys when there is
no (other) active window, with the keyboard hook, I mean, if unchecked
the option "Configure | Key/Mouse | Setup | Recognize keyboard hot
keys ..." But then again, you can use the hotkeys with the keyboard
hook without any problem on the PP's bar and/or the Explorer's
taskbar, which are excluded from the active windows list.

In conclusion, from my own (limited) experience, I can see no problem
to exclude the desktop from the active windows list.
