This is NOT about sgp acs322000's message, "right hold+wheel
task switcher" clashing with mousetrap. It is about:

"bhool_gaya" wrote in "Re: Request: middleclick + whell for
switching task":

I don't understand the reason for that feature request.

I just tested the RMB+wheel feature here and found no conflict
in Opera or Firefox. The right click context menu is not shown
until you release the right mouse button. If you hold down
the RMB and turn the wheel, it moves through the usual Alt-Tab
task switching dialog; then release the RMB and the context menu
is not shown - it just switches tasks as it should.
However if you click the RMB down+up without moving the wheel,
you get the program's context menu. And if you move the wheel
without holding RMB, it scrolls the page.

What's wrong with that? To me, it all seems perfect.
Does it behave differently from what I described, on your system?

I just tested in several applications' windows and RMB+wheel
worked perfectly in all except:

- The Bat! which shows its context menu on RMB down instead of
waiting for RMB up. With The Bat, you need to either click away
from Bat's window before using RMB+wheel, or use Alt+Tab.

- Any standard Windows Help (such as PowerPro Help) where right
hold + wheel starts selecting an area, because RMB+wheel (or
RMB hold down and drag) is a selection method in winhlp32.
You can only break out of the selecting by clicking away from
context menu.
[yet another MS app which does not comply with MS windows standards!]
That does not happen in the .chm type of help.

You can disable the feature for incompatible apps by adding
CaptionList items to the "except" field in pproconf GUI Control
tab, for example: =winhlp32

Really, using MMB+wheel would be more likely to clash in Opera
than RMB+wheel. The MMB can be set in Opera's options to do
various things such as "Open in new page" -- and it happens on
MMB down, not waiting for mouse button up like the RMB does.

So I'm puzzled - it seems you want something which would
interfere with Opera's functionality instead of the current
PowerPro feature which doesn't.
But people are taking the request seriously so I guess I must
have misunderstood something.

I hope you are enjoying your holidays Bruce :)
