Maybe a new hook command list that gets executed right after powerpro
fills a global variable with the tracked data, and before it writes
that data into its files. This way a user could override the value of
that global variable in synch with powerpro.

In the case of multipane file managers, only the user can tell which
pane holds the value to be tracked (or track all panes at once?)

David, fyi, while playing with my hacked version of CmdPrompt.powerpro,
I found that also child window ID=9 holds path information in TC.
