My compromise solution to all of this was to create a batch file that
imports a bunch of reg settings for PP and some other software. The
startup batch also starts PP, which has its own startup script
creating a mapped drive so I will always know which drive letter to
refer to. To undo all of this I have a stop batch file which deletes
all these registry settings, deletes some folders in the
%userprofile%\applications directory, and 'ejects' the thumbdrive. In
the end, the host computer is as clean as when I started except for
one batch file (my stop.bat) that gets copied into the host %temp% dir.

It was a chore to go through and find all the PP entries; there are a
bunch of them including one that still refers to Stiletto!
