You might want to try the ODBC plug in.  It can be located here:

There is also a COM plugin that you can use to write a database layer in a
language you're more familiar with that supports COM.

I do not think this is possible but I am posting it anyway. Can 
powerpro access recordsets of databases through a connector? I do not 
think it is possible but it sounds like a great feature for future 
releases.
