I uploaded a new version of beta 4.4.01 to the usual place

which adds undocumented command (which you must type manually)
exec bitandor v
provides debug output for each use for & | ^ and

exec bitandor i
treats & as &&, | as ||, ^ as ^^

exec bitandor n
normal treatment
