Hi, I haven't been able to find something in the messages archive. I am sure that my problem is not original, but I haven't been able to find the correct search keywords so I am flooded with irrelevant search hits.
My problem is quite simple. I want to set-up a menu with some snippets. I have assigned a keyboard macro (win+space) which launches a command list named "QuickLaunch" as a menu. I want to set up this command list so that it includes a submenu with my snippets. Whenever I select a snippet, I want it to be pasted to the active window. Partial Solution:A I use the default snippets command list. I add all items there and to each item I assign the *keys as left click command. I add an item named Sn&ippets to my QuickLaunch menu and I assign the command "*menu show snippets" as a left click command to that item. Problem: I press win+space, QuickLaunch menu appears. I press i, the first menu is replaced by the "submenu". When I select a snippet I occasionally get the error: "Cannot find window to change or to send keys to "... So I tried the following: Partial Solution:B Instead of the default snippets command list, I create a folder named "mysnippets". I create a text file for each of my snippets which includes the text I want to be able to paste. In the QuickLaunch menu I create 3 items: (Sn&ippets) *Format StartSubmenu *Menu Folder c:\program files\PowerPro\mysnippets folderdots folderstart mne noext noicons embed nohidden tiptext tooltips Autosoftcol 10 center Maxtext 50 cmd "*clip filepaste" *Format EndSubmenu So far so good. I press win+space and QuickLaunch appears. This time Snippets is a submenu. I press i and it gets highlighted. Since there is no other item with i as a mnemonic, the submenu opens. Once an item is selected, it is pasted properly to the active window. However, I cannot use user defined mnemonics. My filenames include the ambersand: eg "My &Address.txt". If I use "mne" then the proper letter is underlined in each item of the submenu, but I have to use 0,1,2,3... as accelerators which is not very effective. If I don't add "mne" then the letters are not underlined at all(ambersand appears) Any idea how to solve any of the problems above? ------------------------ Yahoo!
