hit send to soon. looks like any old ~=foo isnt the trigger. it needs
to be actualy hiding something.

pop open 3-4 windows and have something hiding in the tray that when
activated will generate a entry on a taskbar.

hmm, you may not even need a program thats active in the tray normaly. 

i hide a item from the activebar using the ~ and some expression to
filter what i want to hide.

after i apply that, i can trigger a put window in tray (*window
traymin) and the entry for the window i just put into the tray remains
on the activebar.

if i then open a new window, or make things otherwise refresh the
activebar, the entry for the now trayed window vanishes.

but if i click the entry before it vanishes, the window in the tray
will reappear.
