I've been trying to figure out the best way, and I thought I might just ask
everyone else out there.
I'm a big relative-path kinda guy. Use ppro variables, and windows
environment variables for just about all paths to items so when I move
systems or devices I don't have to re-build all my commands. I'm having a
problem in only one place (that I've found so far, but I guess it would
appear when any commandline was handed off to windows).
My problem: After I create the variable at powerpro startup:
Exec SetEnv MyDocs c:/My Documents
I use it with the command:
*Menu folder %MyDocs% folderdots folderstart folderback nosubdir Explorer2
Under Maxtext 32 ack nosubdir Explorer2 Under Maxtext 32
Menu displays fine. But if I try to use the explorer2 in the menu, I get a
"The path 'c:/My Documents' does not exist or is not a directory."
(explorer.exe not liking / in it's paths for local folders)
Is this where there should be a re-parsing of the path before powerpro hands
it off to windows...or is there another fix that I can do? I'm trying to
keep everything standardized...so always using the / in all paths
everywhere. I'd hate to confuse myself (and others) with rules like if here,
use \ if there, use / etc.
While on the path question, I also use this:
Script assign pproexefolder FILE.folder(WINDOW("exefullpath","=powerpro"))
And I guess the file.folder function (probably all file commands?) return \
in the path instead of /. Don't have a problem with the *Menu folder or
explorer2 command because the path is all \s
Ideas?
