I read the acdsee forum topic you linked to.
It looks like that double-click action is hard coded
into acdsee's ID_Media.apl plugin - but if you disable
that plugin, then you don't get the thumbnail display
which you want.
PowerPro cannot hook (interrupt) what the plugin does.

I suggest you learn to be satisfied with drag and drop
instead of double clicking.

That's not bad if your PowerPro bar with the Media Player
icon is always on top.
If it's not, then you could make a new OnTop bar, with
only one icon, which only appears while acdsee is active.
You can make it look like your drop target is part of
the acdsee window, although it's made by PowerPro.

You do that by setting the left command of the first item
in the command list to: Format Context =acdsee
or the part title captionlist method: Format Context *acdsee*

and the second item is your button with command:
"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe"
and check the "Switch to if active" box.

The new bar's position could be "Right caption"
then adjust the "Horizontal/vertical offsets" numbers
so it covers an unused part of the acdsee window.
