Maybe just a series of numbers: image0001.PowerProClip image0002 etc
(those leading 0's will make them list in true numeric order
in an alphabetic sorted file manager list)
Or maybe Image<date_time>.PowerProClip
which would also sort chronologically in a list which is sorted by name.
Another problem is that sometimes a single saved clipboard can
contain several objects, such as a bitmap and a text table
and a vector drawing object.
Often that can only be pasted back into the app it was copied from.
If you needed to name that for clipboard tracking, I guess you
could call it mixed0007.PowerProClip

Personally, I do not use the clipboard tracking features for text,
and I would not use them for images either.
I once had the excellent shareware LinkStash installed. It can show
the images it has saved, and you can edit its text clips, and it had
lots of nice features, but I never got into the habit of using it much.
Instead I have developed good habits of pasting soon after copying,
usually as a new layer in the Photoshop image file, and saving often.
Thus I keep "saved clips" in layers whose visibility I can switch off.
Same in CorelDraw - when I copy something, if I haven't yet decided
where to paste it, I make a spare page and paste it there.
Thus my "saved clip" is visible on a page in the same doc, in the
same app, and is editable.
So most of my Corel documents have a few scrap-book pages.
I keep that as my working copy of the doc and only remove those pages
from documents which I send to a client or print shop.
If I return to that job months later, my working document still has
its relevant "saved clips" available.
For me, clipboard tracking of image clips makes too many old clips
which I never go back to, and which are not automatically sorted
into categories related to each design job.
So, unless other users ask for it, I think extending multi-format
clips into the capturing feature set is not necessary.
For me, the simple new clip.save and clip.load are wonderful.
They make a huge difference by enabling me to stash just
a few clips, and I can remember what each one contains.
By the way, I don't do this now:

Instead I use clip.save(exefilename++n) to generalise it.

to provide every app with its own private clipboard.
