Alan: Thank-you once again for your detailed and helpful response. Option 1 and 3 still fail to bring the focus back to the field. There must be something odd about this type of database field - as it seems to work in some fields and not others. Option 2 works - but I'm not sure I really gain anything by using a hotkey instead of using CTRL + V to paste the text - as I do not need to re-use the data in the clipboard.
Anyhow, even though we haven't gotten to the hoped-for solution, I have learned tons about how to use some of your suggestions for other projects. I am also eager to roll-up my sleeves and learn how to use scripting for some of the repetive bar items I am creating - as the development process will be much shorter using scripts versus the GUI.
