I would say the same error is possible in C/C++, but if you write
if (expression
statement 1
statement 2
}
the closing brace without matching { will elicit an error.  PowerPro 
should also give an error for endif with no matching if-do (or if-do-
else), but it is too simple internally to track the information 
needed for this error check and I cannot think of an easy way to add 
this tracking.
