Coming late to the party with this, but I've just tested in latest 
Firefox & it's not crashing PowerPro for me, which makes me think it's 
an extension you've installed in Fx.  Couple of other people have said 
it didn't crash PP for them either.

Have you tried running the test with Fx in Safe Mode?

Just to make sure my test was correct, tho, could you pls confirm the 
test.htm file contents, as I've deleted the original msg & it just 
appears as "test test" (without any of the surrounding html) in Gmane & 
Yahoo Groups.

I tested with:

<.body>test test<./body>
<./html>
