I started a very long file search with TotalCommander, only to discover that
the plugin that was
handling the file search kept showing and hiding an annoying progress window:
caption: Reading cache contents
handle:2360704 c=obj_Form
c:\totalcmd\totalcmd.exe pid=1716
parent=
(948,493) (1254,580) 306x87
hidden hastoolcaption notresizable notmaxable notminable toolwindow
1. Reading item: 0 / 1
So I thought I should move TotalCommander to a virtual desktop, and the
progress window would flash
there and not on my work destop. The script below trapped the progress window
and sent it to the
virtual desktop.
local t0=unixtime
wait.for(10000, visiblewindow 2360704 )
vdesk moveall * vdeskGeA c=obj_Form
win.debug("waited", unixtime-t0)
quit
Unfortunately, in the new virtual desktop, the progress window blocked, so I
had to cancel the seach to
regain TotalCommander. The progress window in the new virtual desktop:

handle: 2360704 c=obj_Form
c:\totalcmd\totalcmd.exe pid=1716

My questions are:
Could PowerPro provide a direct way to send *that* window to another vdesk? It
seemed that
PowerPro would only send a visible window to a vdesk, and since the progress
window was invisible
most of the time, I had to set up my own trap.
At the same time, my own trap wasn't terribly effective, I had to fire it
several times before catching the
window, since it was moving (hide/show) quite fast (slowing down the rest of
the system).
And why did the progress window block when it was moved to the virtual desktop?
Could I have done it in another way? I mean, getting the progress window out of
my way while it was
performing the long file search?
