Hello sgp,

The Loupe program you were using is not good if you have to
simulate mouse moves to update its zoom window.

There are many screen magnifiers listed at:
http://www.magnifiers.org/

Such a long list, you may prefer the short list
of magnifiers getting the best user votes:
http://www.magnifiers.org/links/Ratings/

Some of those listed are freeware, some are shareware.

ZoomPlus is a very good free one:
http://www.gipsysoft.com/zoomplus/

I just installed Zoom+ to try it -- have decided to replace
my previous magnifier, Aareus UpClose, because Zoom+ works better
with dual monitors, good feature set, no annoyances.

It allows you to switch on/off automatic update of its
zoomed window, such as when you are typing in the target zone.
You can even choose the refresh rate: off, slow, medium, or fast.
So there's no need to simulate mouse moves.

The zoomed window can be static (locked to a particular target area)
or dynamic: check "follow mouse" on its context menu or one of its
toolbar icons or use the hotkey.
It has neat ways to change the target zone if "follow mouse" is off.

Its window has an optional status bar showing mouse x y and color
in rgb /255 or hex, which can be copied to the clipboard of course.
Also does screen captures, magnified or unmagnified, to clipboard or file.

There are many other freeware and shareware magnifiers with differing
feature sets if you have time to try them.
