Howdy list & Bruce,

Prompted by sgp's question about win.sendmessage, I have decided to
announce the existence [& semi-completion] of the PPSR -- the PowerPro
Scripting Reference.

Back in March I finished documenting all the PowerPro inbuilt commands &
functions, CL functions, & plugin functions for the PPSR -- description,
syntax, parameters, return value, usage, etc etc, for each. (all fxns &
commands to that date, anyway, haven't added newer stuff yet. Actually,
haven't done all the plugins yet, either, but the main distro plugins
are done)

However, it's not in a very handy format at all. I wrote the reference
using Freemind (http://freemind.sourceforge.net/ -- sooooo good for this
task) and from there exported it to an XML file... an extremely big XML
file (10mb!)

I then learned XML & XSLT in order to convert it further into a usable
format, but discovered my XML file is one serious beast of a document --
as every single node is actually called "node"... arrgh.

So, at the moment, I'm part way thru converting it into a more usable
format. And I'd like to say it will be finished soon, but that's not
likely! (V. busy at the moment.) I'm aiming to have it done by the end
of the year... hopefully.

In the meantime, ignoring the format, the content may still be helpful,
so I've decided to put it out there for y'all anyway.

I did show someone a few months ago, with the intention of announcing it
then, but he didn't like it & couldn't see that it would be helpful at
all. I gather that he thinks I was trying to replace the PowerPro Help
-- not at all the case.

The PPSR is intended as a complement to the excellent PowerPro Help
files. PPSR is a scripting reference, not a help manual. It offers a
dry & hopefully concise explanation of all the functions & commands, but
doesn't tell you how to use or configure PowerPro -- the PowerPro Help
does that brilliantly.

So, I figure I should let people know it's there, on the web, in 2 forms
at the moment -- the rather unwieldy "Old Format" (which is a direct,
extremely convoluted, HTML export from Freemind), and the so far
unfinished "New Format".

The New Format is pretty. :) And easy to use. And will have a
navigable left-hand index tree thingo eventually. But only (so far)
covers the built-in commands.

I am, of course, extremely interested in feedback (I was given some
excellent feedback from the first reviewer which I haven't yet
incorporated, but will) - as well as corrections, etc.

So, on the understanding that there is still much work to be done, that
parts may be wrong, & that this may be more painful to use than to not,
here, then, is the PPSR:
