I'm going to put a section in http://powerpro.pcrei.com that has this question answered by several people in several ways (this is a common question for people). Anyone interested in submitting their version to the page reply to this message or send me the info directly at [EMAIL PROTECTED] and I'll integrate it into a single section.
--------- Here's my examples: Home: - Multiple Clipboards that can be displayed as a bar (bar you open/close as you want it) - App launcher, categorized for what I'm working on (html design, picture programs, winamp and songs, games etc) - Hotkey manager, launch program when I hit Ctrl+alt+o for opening Outlook etc - Keyboard Macro's, so I don't have to type my E-mail address all the time, `ed (E-mail David) is all I need. Tons of those - Timers, for counting down (gotta tear myself from the computer for work in 15 mins) and it plays a sound and does a popup, counting up, have 2 one for timing whatever, another for doing projects that I bill for. I worked x minutes x rate = invoice at the end =) - Notes - Making my multimedia keys on my ms keyboard to work with winamp without having to load another ms bloat-driver for it. - Be able to look at hidden tasks, close tasks, terminate without prejudice tasks etc =) - Have a command that shows a calendar when I need to look at a date quickly - Lets me add things to context menus, open any file in pspad, my text-edit of choice...play wav files once without having to launch my music software etc. - move the calculator window when it I open it, never used to start in the right place at the right size....out of the way - Give uber window-controls to all windows, rollup, hide, move to monitor a or b, terminate window, buttonize window, size window to xx pixels by x pixels, couple of those for testing web pages at different resolutions, other commands I'm sure I'm missing - Always have a floating clock with date/time on my screen for quick-glance access (on the corner of 2nd monitor =) ) - Starts most of my programs, with my IM software if I hold down shift as ppro starts it doesn't launch those...quite handy when you're doing stuff with multiple reboots - vesks, don't use these much but every now and then I'm in the middle of a project and have to do something else quickly, nice to be able to get a new clean working area with 2 clicks - Have a counting script, when I'm having to make those web pages with a numbered list of 1) to 452) converting it to 1. to 452. it's nice not to have to do that manually every time. - lots of different scripts, can't remember all their uses - keep a history of my clipboard contents, that's saved me a bunch of times - Shortcuts to folders when I have a file|open/save dialog in front of me. - Auto-explorer-open-here list for folders I monkey around in a lot That's all I can remember off the top of my head without digging further. Work: - Caps Case management, when one of my programs has focus, caps is always on, with any other window, it turns it off - button on a bar that tells me what day of work I'm entering (nice when you have lots of info). - Quick access to a function that allows me to type something once, and then I can retype it again with another keystroke...that one you have to use in advance though.... - 1-button launching of testing for server status, for when things aren't working on the network. - 1 menu, that combines work .wpd files, a certain file that gets updated daily, ppro script files, so they're accessible with 2 clicks instead of having to open explorer, and navigate to all those things. or Keystroke macros (context or global), "snippets", clipboard history, 9 virtual desktops, hotkeys, timers, alarms, scheduling, scripting, Quick Launch bar replacement, complete tooltray replacement, Task Bar replacement, window control (rollup, min to tray, move to virtual desk, more), mouse driven macros, button bars, menus, context button bars, (pant, pant). And that's just the bits *I* use. etc Thanks! David Troesch | Atlanta, GA | ICQ# 2333123 "If you can DREAM it, you can DO it." Funstuff: If today was a fish, I'd throw it back in.
