I am pretty sure I understand this now. It relates to how GDI+ draws text and in particular how it does anti-aliasing or use of clear type. To verify, can you try the following. Go to Display Properies from right click on desktop or CP, appearance tab, Effects... button. I am guessing that you have "clear type" selected for "use the following method for smoothing fonts. Just for experimentation try both unchecked and standard. Both should work. Color will still be wrong. If this works, then I will change PowerPro to override the system setting when it renders text.
