Some kind of obscure bug.  I checked a hunch but it was not the 
problem.

Can you try a simple script on but restaring powerpro to run on 
empty.pcf.  Shutdown PowerPro, use explorer to drag and drop 
empty.pcf onto powerpro.exe, then add command like
exec
morecommandsasscript
static papersave=paper
win.debug(papersave, paper)

If it works (it does on my machine), then it is something in yoru 
configuration, possibly a script that runs before the one that 
causes the error.
