They are too long to type.  I may allow both above and ftos and stof.

Note that implicit conversion to float is already in place.  If you 
type
x = "14.2"  // x is a string
y = 5.0 / x   // y is a float

But the stof could come in handy if you are ready strings from a file, 
I guess.
