As I understand it, you also need a signing certificate from Microsoft with an annual fee of US$500.00. If my understanding is correct, I think Microsoft is trying hard via the back door to kill off freeware and open source programs for Vista, by setting a cost barrier that will be tiny for most for-profit ventures, but will be too much for the average freeware or open-source author to cough up. All in the name of protecting the user from "bad" software, of course. > I myself am probably at least a year away from considering a Vista > upgrade. Given Vista's new very restrictive licensing (one one machine transfer allowed per RETAIL license!), DRM issues, speed issues, RAM and video requirements, etc. I doubt I will ever upgrade to Vista. When I just can't make my Windows XP system go any more, I'll just switch to Linux. But for the time being, I'm working on an "XP ReForged" site (eventually to be at http://xpreforged.gridspace.net/) with ways to get Vista-like user features on XP with freeware and low cost commercial software. Powerpro will be one of the programs featured. -- Randall Gridspace Consulting: http://www.gridspace.net/ Frugal Webmaster Blog: http://www.frugalwebmaster.net/ Software Gadgets Blog: http://softwaregadgets.gridspace.net/ Attention: PowerPro's Web site has moved: http://www.ppro.org Yahoo!
