I should think all you would need to do is put your working command for saving icon positions just after your "if" and delete the rest. Do you have a working command on the button for doing that? I had never (or at least not recently) used *Desktop SaveIcons before. I just tried it, and it doesn't work for me (4.8b, XP Pro). It gives no error but doesn't save the specified file.
