Yes, it can! I've using PP for months now strictly on
my USB flash drive thanks for some special syntax!
The only thing that was tricky was figuring out the
relative paths issue for launching items. I imagine
the coding will work with launching things directly
when using the regular bars section as well and not
just for the scheduler. I don't use PP in the usu.
way, I just use it for the scheduler and stickies
components. But I'm sure that the launch syntax willl
work the same everywhere else in PowerPro.
Here is the syntax Bruce and another poster so kindly
provided some time back in 2007:
1) When launching an item in the same folder path as
PowerPro, use syntax below in the command line, as in
this example below:
do(pprofolder++"/RemndrMESSAGES/Msg16-PHONE, VOICE
MAIL check.exe")
The actual path, here at home at any rate, for the
above is this:
Q:\APPS\TIMER-WORK\bar, PowerPro v4.7\APP- PowerPro
v4.7\RemndrMESSAGES\Msg16- PHONE, VOICE MAIL
check.exe")
As can be seen, it's within the path of where PowerPro
is located. The exe for PowerPro is physitically
found in the folder called "APP- PowerPro v4.7" so I
just had to make reference to the subfolder
"RemndrMESSAGES" where the message exe #16 re "voice
mail" is located. At work, the drive letter is "E:\"
instead of "Q:\" so if I'd put the absolute path for
"Q:\APPS\..." instead of the above, this entry in PP
wouldn't work. But since I didn't, the scheduler
works on any computer I plug my USB flash drive (Ufd).
So one of the primary requirements for USB flash
drives is keeping relative paths and never using
absolute ones.
The above syntax is for items that are included
somewhere either in the main PP folder itself or a
subfolder. It will not work for items located
elsewhere on your Ufd. The syntax is slightly
different.
2) So for items on the Ufd but not in the PP folder
path, you would use this type of syntax in the command
line, as per this other example:
do(disk++?":\APPS\PStart v2.11\APP- PStart v2.11\z02b-
BACK UP ''PStart'' config file after modifying.exe")
The actual path here at home is this:
E:\APPS\PStart v2.11\APP- PStart v2.11\z02b- BACK UP
''PStart'' config file after modifying.exe")
so you see where PP keeps the path relative with no
mention of the driver letter so that the above works
on any Windows computer. Not in the PP folder path
anywhere and elsewhere on the drive, but it works.
Good luck! Hope this helps you as much as it did me
<g>. I needed to find a scheduler/launcher solution
in the summer desperately as they had me as a floater
in the office. I sat at about 5 or 6 different
computers over a 3 week period as whenever someone was
away for a few days, I was able to sit at their desk
since there was no extra space in the office. What
I'd been doing for years was importing my Outlook
calendar reminders whenever I went to a new job, but
that would have been impossible here. I need at least
half an hour for tweaking doing that. No time at all.
But once I had this system in PowerPro, I'm up and
running the minute I plug the Ufd in!
*******************************************************************************************************************************
SO TO REITERATE:
Within PP folder path anywhere: do(pprofolder++"/
(plus reference to item to launch)
Somewhere else on the device: do(disk++?":\
(plus reference to item to launch)
*******************************************************************************************************************************
Cheers!

notes, shortcuts, and personal settings with
themselves to use and run from on any available
computer. For example. that can be run directly from a
USB device.
