No, it wasn't meant to; I haven;t (yet) found solution to that. > but it does turn off > visual styles appearance: not only for dialogs, but also for bars > (once dialog is running). Okay, try dialogplugin1.11provisional080423.zip in http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/power-pro/files/0_TEMP_/AlansPluginProvisional/ > Visual styles don't return even after Dialog is unloaded. > They do return for bars after Dialog is unloaded and PowerPro is > restarted. > This version is also doing something strange to dialog title bar > system buttons. I've stubbed out everything to do with visual styles. I probably will just give up on them (visual styles). I don't have XP development machines (only machines to try a dll on), and visual styles documentation (and the API itself) are shrouded in murk. > Re other programs that do tooltips and have manifests: both Wink and > Forte Agent. Ta, thanks. that's what I need: I want to watch message flow into and out of controls and dialog in a programme in which styles appear to be working normally.
