No, it wasn't meant to; I haven;t (yet) found solution to that.

How about with above version? 

I've stubbed out everything to do with visual styles.

I probably will just give up on them (visual styles).  I don't have 
XP development machines (only machines to try a dll on), and visual
styles documentation (and the API itself) are shrouded in murk.

Ta, thanks.  that's what I need: I want to watch message flow into and
out of controls and dialog in a programme in which styles appear to be
working normally.
