I uploaded a win.dll with sendmessagestrremote(win_hand, message, wParam, variable_name) where the length of contents of variable name determines memory allocated remotely. http://powerpro.webeddie.com/download/win.dll Here is test sb script; note that I had to "and off" possible bits in upper word of returned length. Also, it did not work on a Delphi app I tried (Txxx status bar -- Delphi's implementation). local WM_USER = 0x0400 local SB_GETPARTS = WM_USER + 6 local SB_GETTEXTLENGTH = WM_USER + 3 local SB_GETTEXT = WM_USER + 2 local h = win.handlefrompoint(xmouse,ymouse) local nParts = win.SendMessage(h, SB_GETPARTS, 99, 0) win.debugclear win.debugshow(nParts) for (local i=0; i<nParts; i++) local size = win.SendMessage(h, SB_GETTEXTLENGTH, i, 0) & 0x2ff win.debug(size) if (size>0 )do local sbtext=repeat("x", size+1) win.SendMessagestrremote(h,SB_GETTEXT,i,sbtext) win.debug(sbtext) endif endfor
