The start menu will not appear from hitting the windows key on your 
keyboard until you release that key so it can't be interfering with with 
hotkeys in that manner. Make sure you're not releasing the windows key 
before you hit the a or whatever other hotkey you're using.

There are windows global hotkeys that are defined however in windows 
that if you overlap with powerpro hotkey can cause weird things to 
happen (win+e for example). You can either disable those windows global 
hotkeys in explorer. Use tweakui to disable, Open tweakui | Explorer | 
uncheck "enable windows+X hotkeys" or just make sure you don't overlap 
the explorer hotkeys with powerpro ones.
