another alternative could be creating a vector using other delimiters.
(more or less like it is written in the help-document)
local v1 = vec.createfromwords("[EMAIL PROTECTED]@gamma|delta","@|")
for each elem in v1 // for each element in the vector
win.debug(elem) // shows alpha, then beta, gamma, delta
endfor
