I had been using SmartTab as Alt-tab replacement for a while. For me, it betters the famous TaskSwitch XP. It assigns window items shortcut index from 1-9 and A-Z. No need to navigate up and down.
However, SmartTab sometimes fails to switch to the right window. It also miss some window in its list if certain dialog opened from that window. For example, Total commander is omitted if its search box is opened. Only until recently I found that Powerpro already provided a solution. The active window list formed by "window show menu traymin" is almost as good as SmartTab. The first letter of any window item can be used as shortcut. However, it is still a bit inconvenient if there are more than one windows starting with the same letter. Furthermore, if the title is not beginning with English letter, such as a Chinese character, the quick access is disabled. Since active window list is so close to perfection, I cant help wondering is there any way to customize the items of this menu, adding an unique index to each one. Thanks again for Bruce's wonderful work! Sean 3/24/2009 16:59
