Thanks for very prompt and helpful reply. I'm sure you're correct that the docs 
are very good once I get my bearings -- the problem is the hurdle in getting 
started. I got the concept of creating a bar, but when I tried that and checked 
Auto show as Bar, it displayed the bar "button" squarely in the middle of my 
screen, instead of in the Powerbar button bar.

I'll reinstall and give it another try.
