It's designed to be as out-of-the-way as anyone could want, with even the ability of providing functionality without even being visible. Most skins I've seen for other programs (though this is a limited set, as I have so little interest in them) are so obnoxious, I couldn't switch off them fast enough.
> 2)where can i get pcf files??? 2. As quantiworks pointed out, people would have to share, which I have done, but for very specific needs that would have little value outside my workgroup. Again, this is due to a major purpose of PP: adding "professional power" to Windows functionality; that of flexibility and broad-based functionality to address so MANY needs, that most people's configurations, even when started from someone else's template, may quickly become unique in many areas. I, for example, already make extensive use of the hotkey capability built into Windows; so much so, in fact, that I have little need of it at home, but would now find it hard to function in my professional position. I make extensive use of multiple desktops, with various menus customized for each. But, for launching most of my programs in the course of the day, I use the handy "Ctrl-Alt-char" that can be attached to any Windows link. > 3)is it possible to get command lists of other people's > configuration????where can i get them..i believe the i will have to import as > text to view that configuration. 3. Exporting is what you do to make it fully readable (and editable) in a text editor. Then it can be imported to create a new, almost identical (or even disparate) bar/menu. I've made much use of this technique to make many similar menus for performing series of tasks for many windows with slightly different parameters. Here's a (slightly edited) copy of my "main" bar that I have visible on all desktops: [Always:Properties] Format1 = Position: Floating SlideFrom: None Format2 = Height: 17 MaxText: 63 Transparent: 255 HoverGradient: 7 Format3 = Hover: 0 255 255 Format4 = TopMost Tooltips AllVDesks AutoShowBar TextCenter BarSize [1] Label = *Info ddd MMM dd Format = Width: 105 LCmd1 = *Bar LParam1 = Show Test1 LCmd2 = *Bar LParam2 = Show Test2 MCmd1 = (none) RCmd1 = (none) [2] Label = *Info hh:mm Tooltip = Utility launch menu/Snippets text paste menu/Accessories menu Format = Width: 60 LCmd1 = *menu LParam1 = ShowAtButton Main MCmd1 = *VDesk MParam1 = Menu MHow1 = switchto RCmd1 = *Menu RParam1 = Folder programs accessories RWork1 = button Maxtext 32 RHow1 = switchto [3] Label = *Info deskname Format = Width: 130 LCmd1 = *Menu LParam1 = Show *desk MCmd1 = (none) RCmd1 = (none) You could copy the above text into a file, then import it into your configuration, and you'd have a menu called "Always" that does pretty much what mine does. > 4)i want to have a list of websites that i frequently visit configured to a > button in a bar such that when i click that button it shows me a list of > websites that i have entered previously into that list. Again, quantiworks gave a good answer on this; and, there truly are multiple ways of accomplishing this. Including NOT using PP. For example, I keep my most-used sites at the top of my bookmarks menu in Firefox. While Alt-B displays that menu (similar to how you'd invoke a PP menu), right-clicking the item I want gives me a menu from which I can hit "N" to open it in a New window, or "W" to do so in a neW tab (and it switches to that tab or window). PP would only save me the mouse click, as long as the menu wasn't so big as to negate value to menu keys. I hope you've found this helpful, though admittedly long-winded.
